Department of Health Release Latest PIP Figures

25th Oct 2012
The Department of Health have released their latest figures on the number of women with PIP implants fitted by the NHS and by private clinics.

The latest statistics reveal that the number of women fitted with implants (up until the 6th January) by the NHS is 970. Of these, 378 have decided to have an explant with 275 of these already taken place.

Almost 7,787 patients who received the implants through a private health clinic have contacted the NHS and have been already referred. One hundred and fourteen women referrals came in September after anxious women who were given PIP breast implants were told by the government that they could be removed for free.
